Senior Therapeutic Support Worker
Job description
Beeline Personnel are recruiting for an experienced Senior Therapeutic Support Worker to e part of a team who provide support for a children’s residential service which is based in Wolverhampton.
The successful candidate will be required to perform 10 sleep-in duties each month which are paid £55 per night on top of your hourly pay.
The successful candidate will help promote a family home environment for up to 4 children and young people (male and female) aged between 5 – 14 years old. They will display emotional and behavioural difficulties and ASD.

This role will suit an experienced residential support worker looking for a change and is ready for a new challenge.
Salary: £20,500 – £22,000 (depending on experience and will be discussed during interview)
Key Duties:
· Be accountable to the homes Registered Manager.
· To lead the shift and be accountable for the organisation and smooth running of the day.
· To follow guidance from Senior
· Providing structure and appropriate boundaries for the children and young people
· To undertake any training that is deemed appropriate to your position
· To attend staff meetings and be a positive role model to the children at their meetings
· Be able to take part in various leisure activities with the children
· Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and other professionals, as well as be able to demonstrate Strong verbal and written skills
· Ensure the completion of all key worker task’s set by your senior team member.
· Administration of medication when required.
· Carry out an essential and varied role to provide the individual, bespoke, support required by the Children and Young People in our care. You will support our Children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy at all times.
· Support and encourage children and young people to attend all appointments and meetings about them, whilst ensuring that you build memories and a nurturing and positive relationships.
· To work in partnership with parents, and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
· To create and develop links between the community and the home to enable children to participate fully in the local community’s life.
· Work with firm and consistent boundaries in order to create safety and containment for the child
· Work alongside the child to help develop a true sense of identity and feel of self-worth.
· Work alongside the Registered Manager/Social worker to provide a comprehensive history of a child’s life.
· Be sensitive to the needs of individual children, taking account of race, culture, language and religion
· Work with child and prospective carers to ensure child’s successful integration into a family when placed.
· Actively involved in key-work sessions and the recording of the outcomes of these sessions with the child or young person.
· Manage the well-being and behaviour of children and young people ensuring behaviours are addressed promptly and sensitively.
· Support children and young people in daily activities, trips out and family time as required, promoting social behaviour.
· To Support and encourage educational and social development of children and young people.
· Ensure the home is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
· Prepare meals and engage in assisting children and young people to develop their independence skills (age appropriate).
· Contributing to the child/young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation.
· Ensure that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from Senior Residential Support Workers and Managers.
· Meet the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximize opportunities for their development
What we are looking for from you:
· Dedicated and committed team player
· Must be over the age of 21
· Level 3/4 Diploma in children and young people residential childcare or equivalent. (Essential).
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a residential Child care setting with children and young people with challenging behaviours or similar setting. (essential)
· Be able to work on a rota pattern including sleeping in and overtime when required (rota pattern likely to be 2 days on 4 days off).
· Current full driving licence required due to the nature of job role.
· Strong communication skills both with children, young people and adults.
· Successful applicants must have or be willing to have, an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and provide satisfactory references.
